These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Puubu, a mobile application provided by Puubu LLC ("we," "us," "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Puubu, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Puubu.
Puubu is a personal tracking tool that helps you log meals, symptoms, and bowel movements to observe patterns in how food relates to how you feel.
Puubu is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or healthcare service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. The patterns and insights surfaced by Puubu are observational and based solely on data you enter. They may be incomplete, coincidental, or incorrect.
Any decisions you make based on Puubu's insights are your own. If you have health concerns, consult a qualified healthcare provider.
PUUBU IS NOT A MEDICAL APP, A MEDICAL DEVICE, OR A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT. THE PATTERNS, INSIGHTS, AND AI-GENERATED CONTENT PROVIDED BY PUUBU ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THEY ARE NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT ANY DISEASE OR HEALTH CONDITION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IBS, CROHN'S DISEASE, CELIAC DISEASE, GERD, FOOD ALLERGIES, OR ANY OTHER MEDICAL CONDITION.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in or concluded from Puubu. If you think you may have a medical emergency or a severe allergic reaction, call your doctor or emergency services immediately. Reliance on any information provided by Puubu is solely at your own risk.
Puubu is intended for users aged 18 and older. By using Puubu, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, do not use Puubu.
Your use of Puubu is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data is collected, how it is processed, and your control over it.
In short: your health data stays on your device. Limited data is sent temporarily to AI services for analysis and is not stored by us. We do not require accounts, collect personal identifiers, or use analytics services.
You agree to use Puubu only for its intended purpose as a personal tracking and reflection tool.

You retain ownership of all data you enter into Puubu, including meals, symptoms, bowel movements, notes, and any photos you take or upload for analysis ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership over Your Content.
To provide the app's features, you grant Puubu LLC a limited, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
This license is limited to what is strictly necessary to operate Puubu and terminates when you delete the data from your device or uninstall the app. We do not use Your Content to train AI models or for any other purpose beyond providing the app's features.
You represent and warrant that you have the right to grant this license — for example, that any photos you upload are yours or that you have permission to use them.
Puubu, including its original content, features, functionality, source code, logos, UI design, artwork, the Puubu mascot character, and all related trademarks and trade dress, is and will remain the exclusive property of Puubu LLC and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
Puubu offers optional paid features through Puubu Pro.
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms. Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings.
We do not process payments directly or have access to your payment information.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We have no ability to issue refunds outside of those platforms.
Puubu uses generative AI (Anthropic's Claude) to identify ingredients from food searches, scans, and barcodes, and to produce weekly reviews and insights based on your data.
AI-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, hallucinated, or unexpected. You should treat insights and ingredient lists as informational, not authoritative.
If you encounter AI output that is offensive, misleading, unsafe, or otherwise problematic, please report it to support@puubu.com so we can investigate.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PUUBU IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PUUBU LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF PUUBU, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from:
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO PUUBU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS LESS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Puubu LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of Puubu, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any content you submit to Puubu.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO BRING A LAWSUIT IN COURT.
You and Puubu LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Puubu (a "Dispute") will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by a recognized arbitration body in Los Angeles County, California, in accordance with its commercial arbitration rules. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
YOU AND PUUBU LLC AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS ACTION, CONSOLIDATED ACTION, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE MORE THAN ONE PERSON'S CLAIMS AND MAY NOT PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF REPRESENTATIVE OR CLASS PROCEEDING.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if the claim qualifies. The arbitration and class action waiver in this section do not apply where prohibited by law, including certain consumer protection statutes in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions. If you are a resident of such a jurisdiction, you may exercise any right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence to the extent that right is non-waivable.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@puubu.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and stating your intent to opt out. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the arbitration provisions above, any disputes not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you obtained Puubu through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply to you, and in the event of any conflict between these and the other terms above, the following control with respect to your use of Puubu on iOS:
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our app, or our legal obligations. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of these Terms and post the revised Terms within the app under Settings → Legal. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will additionally surface a notice within the app. Your continued use of Puubu after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
You may stop using Puubu at any time by deleting the app from your device.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Puubu, or to specific server-side features, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in abusive use of our infrastructure. Given the app's architecture (no accounts, local data), termination by us primarily applies to abuse of our server features, such as rate-limit circumvention or attempts to extract or attack our AI subprocessors.
The following sections survive any termination or expiration of these Terms: Medical Disclaimer, Your Content and the License You Grant Us, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution and Class Action Waiver, Governing Law, Apple App Store Provisions, and any other provision that by its nature should survive termination.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Puubu LLC regarding your use of Puubu and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, or proposals, whether oral or written.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect, and the invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
